Families Matter – Nationwide Tour

It was great to meet so many families last week on the first part of our nationwide tour, talking to parents about the issue of young people leaving their families behind to travel to Syria and Iraq, and how we can better protect our children.

We’ve held events in Leicester and Leeds so far, with visits to East London, Liverpool, Luton and Stoke to come. These have been workshops with one-to-one advice for parents and families to find out how they can reach out to young people who could be at risk.

We’ve held screenings of our campaign film, which contains the testimonies of other families who have been through this terrible experience. We’re encouraging everyone to come here, to our website, too – to get more information if they need it.

The tour so far has been highlighted with coverage in the Leicester Mercury, BBC London, Yorkshire Standard and Asian Lite newspapers, spreading our message even further.
