Christianne Boudreau: How I knew my son had become radicalised

In this short film we speak to Christianne Boudreau, mother of Damien, a 22year old from Calgary, Canada who died fighting with ISIS in Syria during 2014. A convert at 17, Damien became increasingly radicalised and turned towards an extreme interpretation of Islam.

Christianne describes the changes she noticed in Damian’s behaviour before he decided to travel to Syria.

At FAST we have worked with families who have lost sons and daughters to the lure of extremists. However, we believe that families matter, we believe that they can make a difference and that they have the power to reach out and stop radicalisation.
